Is Crossrail 2 going ahead?

It’s expected that the final plans will be submitted to Parliament in 2021/2022, with construction to take place after that — and if you think how long the Elizabeth line was in the making, you know it’ll be a while.

When will Crossrail open? No date has yet been set for Crossrail’s opening, only that it is expeced to come in the “first six months” of 2022. It looks likely that services between Paddington and Abbey Wood, via the West End and Canary Wharf, can start running in May.
