Does Novofem cause weight gain?
Although Novofem, like other HRT, has been reported to cause weight gain in some people, the evidence suggests that this is more likely to be fluid retention and bloating rather than true weight gain. During the menopause it is not uncommon for women to gain weight, especially around their abdomen.

In women who are not taking HRT or women in transition from a continuous combined HRT product, treatment with Novofem may be started on any convenient day. In women in transition from another sequential HRT regimen, treatment should begin the day following completion of the preceding regimen.

Breast-feeding: You should not take Novofem ® if you are breast-feeding. Novofem ® has no known effect on the ability to drive or use machines. Novofem ® contains lactose monohydrate.
What happens if I get pregnant while taking Novofem?
Novofem is not a form of hormonal contraception. If less than 12 months have elapsed since your last period, or if you are under the age of 50, use additional protection such as condoms to prevent pregnancy. If you become pregnant while taking Novofem, stop taking the medicine immediately and speak to your doctor as soon as possible.
What should I do if I have an allergic reaction to Novofem?
If you experience an allergic reaction after taking Novofem, seek immediate medical attention by going directly to your nearest accident and emergency department. Remember to take the packaging and any remaining tablets with you, so that doctors know exactly what you have taken. Novofem is not suitable for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
